About the chamber

Our membership is diverse yet universal in its ideals. Most of our member businesses are small and independently owned and operated. They share many of the same concerns, such as adequate parking for customers, bold signage, rising energy, and employee rate increases, and safety concerns as well as continuing the quest to foster their own american dream. The Chamber of Commerce is helping the local business community by promoting our members and facilitating opportunities for business development. We especially respect the entrepreneurial spirit of new business owners and believe that the money they invest in Chamber membership will be one of their wisest investments. The Chamber hosts monthly meetings, mixers and special events to provide our members with maximum marketing exposure!

Our Accomplishments

The Eagle Rock Chamber of Commerce - with the support of past and current members, has initiated and achieved a prolific list of accomplishments that have for some time, benefitted the membership and the community.

These highlights include:

  • For more than forty years have sponsored and hosted the "Old Fashioned Christmas" for community children and their parents. The celebration includes a tree lighting, a visit from Santa Claus, a gift for the children, hot chocolate and cookies for everyone with some great entertainment by children.

  • Sponsored and organized Eagle Rocks 75th Anniversary Celebration.

  • Sponsored and hosted a Community Victory Celebration for local veterans who served in Desert Storm.

  • Organized community fund raiser to save 'The Eagle Rock." Over $10,000 was raised working together with our council office and community organizations to ensure that the property below The Eagle Rock would not be sold to a private developer. It was purchased by the City for preservation and is a City Historical Monument.

  • Co-hosts of the Annual Northeast Christmas Parade.

  • Helped to compose and publish the "Then and Now" booklet that depicts highlights of Eagle Rock history from its humble beginning as a one-horse town having a population of a dozen hearty souls through 1987 still having a small town feel.

  • Established and maintained a fund to help our local Fire Station #42 obtain building and ground improvements that could not be requisitioned through the City.

  • Established and promoted a weekly Farmers Market to help promote a unity of community spirt.

  • Established and Host the Annual Summer Concerts In The Park - a free musical venue for the community.

  • Established the placement of Christmas decorations along Colorado and Eagle Rock Boulevards each year.

  • Lobbied city and state officials for funds to establish the Community Cultural Center - now known as the Center For The Arts Eagle Rock - in the restored old Eagle Rock library. It  now provides the community with a variety of educational art programs and art exhibits for all ages.

  • Initiated the ERCPER For community redevelopment of small and new businesses.

  • Worked diligently with the Council office to ensure that the Greater Los Angeles Council on Deafness (GLAD) received the necessary support to renovate and occupy the former WCTU home. This saved the historic home from possible demolition.

These are just a few of your Chamber's accomplishments--- many more will be accomplished in the tradition of our past successes!
