Solheim Lutheran Home

100% Awesome

Solheim Lutheran Home is a thriving community where love, respect and joy in living is experienced by all who live, work and visit.

Since 1923, Solheim Lutheran Home has shone a blessedly bright light in Eagle Rock. Though the original 12-room house has grown into a full-care four-building campus on two and a half acres, Solheim’s mission remains the same: to provide abundant living to older adults in a caring, faith-based community filled with love, peace, dignity and security.

A faith-based community that practices acceptance and love, we welcome older adults of all racial, social and cultural backgrounds, of all faiths or none.

Especially significant, Solheim is a continuing care retirement community. Our four levels of comprehensive care—from residential living to skilled nursing –guarantee that no matter how much or how little care our residents require, they can comfortably remain in the community they have come to know and love.

Solheim is a rare Home that offers a beautiful on-site chapel and full-time chaplain, fulfilling our mission to nourish body, mind and spirit.

For our dear friends with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s, Solheim’s Halvorson Neighborhood offers a peacefully secure environment where structured activities provide an abundant life from morning to night.

Our on-site state of the art Norma Heaton Wellness Center has been a great success in encouraging Solheim residents to build strength and stamina and improve their balance. It is a natural extension of our new Rehabilitation Center for those recovering from illness or injury.

Perhaps most remarkably, Solheim Lutheran Home provides charitable care to those residents who have outlived their personal financial assets, allowing every member of our Solheim family to live out his or her days in peace and security.

Do we have fun? Absolutely! Solheim residents participate in a wide range of social, cultural and physical activities that engage their minds, strengthen their bodies and enrich their spirits. You might even see one of our residents hoisting a beer right next to you at our Eagle Rock Oktoberfest on September 20th from 5pm – 9pm!

With almost a one-to-one staff-to-resident ratio, Solheim received the maximum "5-Star" rating in quality measures and was ranked one of the best nursing homes in the country in 2014 by U.S. News & World Report. Today Solheim is home to almost 200 seniors, providing abundant living to older adults in a caring community filled with love, peace, dignity and security. As a testament to the kind of quality care that Solheim is known for, Solheim recently received a record $1.2 million bequest, the largest gift from an individual in the organization's history. The funds will be used to make renovations and upgrades to further enhance the lives of its elderly residents.
