Dear Chamber Member,
The Eagle Rock Community will honor our Veterans by sponsoring a Veterans
Day Parade in Eagle Rock on Sunday, November 11, 2007. The parade will
begin at 1:00p.m.
It would be wonderful if you would support this event honoring our
veterans. Attached is a parade map and entry form. If anyone in your
business is a Vet or has friends or family who are Veterans, please let
them know that we would love to see them participate in our community's
Parade. There is no entry fee. Feel free to forward the package to any
interested parties.
How you can help: The ERCC is responsible for providing a pre-parade lite
lunch for the Veterans and officials participating in the parade. If you
are able to donate food or beverages please contact me. Many of our
Veterans have difficulty walking. We are in need of drivers who will
provide them with parade transportation by driving the convertibles and
trucks that are being lent to us by the Auto dealerships. Drivers must
hold a valid CA drivers license, have insurance and be 25 or older.
Volunteer drivers should contact Brandy at 323-254-0233. If you have a
convertible available for parade use, please let Brandy know.
I have also attached a parade flyer inviting all to view the parade. We
were hoping that you and your staff would distribute the flyer to friends
and family.
This event is jointly sponsored by the LA 14th Council office of
Councilmember Jose Huizar, the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council, the Eagle
Rock Chamber of Commerce and other community organization. Civic leader,
Ruby DeVera is chairing the event.
