Much of
the work by the artists that Segura Publishing has collaborated
with since its founding in 1981 addresses the romantic myths of the
American Southwest, often by examining the historical realities of
immigration, acculturation, and assimilation.
Segura
Publishing, located
in Tempe, Arizona, sees that we have reached a moment in history, as
Monique Wittig says in Out There: Marginalization and Contemporary
Cultures,..."when the domination of social groups can no longer appear
as a logical necessity to the dominated".
Segura
Publishing Company's
works can be found in major collections throughout the country including:
-
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
-
The Museum of Modern Art in New York
-
The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis
-
The Los Angeles County Museum
-
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston
We look
forward to seeing you at this special exhibit!
